After quite a long delay and much work, I’ve finally finished the write-up for the second in-depth issue of ‘Behind the Screen’ – Crypt of the Everflame Part II! Inside is more detail about all of the mechanical crunch, resources utilized and material used for changes made to the Crypt of the Everflame module to suit a party of 7 PCs and segue into the Slumbering Tsar Saga.
As in the first issue, I’ve endeavored to expand upon my thoughts behind the adjustments made and to cover the utilization of numerous excellent third-party supplements. This second issue specifically covers the content of Session Summary #2 of the campaign Let Sleeping Tsars Lie–and as a bonus, includes a stat block for a Giant Black Widow Juju Zombie Spider!
Once again, thanks to everyone involved who helped to make this happen–I greatly appreciate any comments and feedback and hope that folks find it an interesting read!
I thought I’d take a moment to post some photos for anyone who might be curious while I’m still getting my bearings after Session #12 of ‘Let Sleeping Tsars Lie’. Saturday was quite a doozy, too–the write-up is shaping up to be particularly immense and chronicles the quest for Emma’s resurrection, intrigue in the camp with a new benefactor, the discovery of a lost knight and a terrible battle in the lair of the brood mother! I will also be delving into some wonderful new material which has been shared with me this morning for a most promising module–more details to come there, but fans of the Temple of Elemental Evil should keep their eyes peeled!
On an aside, I’d like to direct folks to check out this post on Theodric the Obscure’s blog about adapting the Rise of the Runelords adventure path for a family campaign–I for one am anxious to see where it goes.
Pre-session prep before everyone has arrived.
Partway through the session, we've brought out a plotted version of the Camp map.
We use terrain, scenery and doodads as well as dwarven forge pieces.
When it's time to delve into the figure reserves, we've accumulated a collection!
